5 Free Stock Photo Sites
As a designer I’m sure you’re always looking for good photos to use in your projects and finding good images can be a time consuming process.
Here is a list of my 5 favourite free stock photo sites that I have used for various projects and help me with website design. Some require a quick registration but they are an invaluable resource for designers like me.
1. Stock.xchng
This is my favourite site for getting free photos as they currently offer over 300,000 photos in many categories. There are photos for everyone and all are in high resolution so they can be used for a variety of things. To access the photos, a quick registration is needed and then you can download as many as you want.

5. Pixel Perfect Digital
Finally, we have Pixel Perfect Digital, which has a good amount of photos, along with textures and 3D graphics, so there are plenty of images for use. All the images are categorised nicely and there is a search box too, so finding the images you need is nice and simple.

When looking for free stock photos or buying photos, it is best to know the background of the company. One time, I was playing this app on Facebook. Its developers were accused of stealing photos and artworks. It turned out the company where the developers purchased the photos/artworks just took and sold most of their photos/artworks without permission from the creators.
