World Wide Web Consortium

Whilst working on a website design” href=”http://www.webdesign-gm.co.uk”>website design today I decided to give the W3C (World Wide Consortium) website a visit to check on a particular bit of code I was looking to implement and guess what? I found a brand new website.

W3C Website

The W3C stands for the World Wide Web Consortium and is an international community that delivers informative content about website accessibility and website development. Working together with the public, member organisations, full time staff and the inventor of the web, the W3C aim to achieve better web standards for a better user experience.

So when I visited the site I found that a complete overhaul on the tired old design had been refreshed and it’s not just the front end which has changed completely. Back end improvements have been made with the XHTML and CSS however it does use some specific IE 6 Hacks, which isn’t valid! But who can blame them?

Overall I think the design is so much better than before, with a simple fluid layout and simple highlighted dividers I think the design works great. Easy to navigate and full of information (as you would expect), I look forward to working my way through the site to learn more.
