Google TV Launched
Google has now joined forces with Sony, Intel and Logitech to launch a ‘smart’ TV service called Google TV that will allow users to watch programmes and browse the internet.

With Google TV, users can easily search television channels, movies, videos, websites and even applications. Another feature is the ability to search for content related to a program or movie you are watching by using a drop down box at the top of the TV.
For instance a football game that is on the TV can be shrunk into a small box in the corner allowing the user to search for statistics or other information and content about the game.
The televisions will be running the Android OS with an Intel chipset and running Chrome as the default browser with Flash support. With Android, users can send files from any Android directly to the TV and even use voice search to find content.
Google and its partners are positive that Google TV will make the idea of internet TV more appealing and simpler for all types of users.
Each partner will have an established role in the making of Google TV. Sony will manufacture the televisions, Logitech will produce the set-top boxes, remote controls and the wireless keyboards and Intel will provide the processors.
