Firefox 4 Beta
Mozilla have released the first beta version of Firefox 4. The latest version of this browser will include better support for many of the new web technologies, a new add on manager, crash protection from third party plugins and accelerated hardware support.
One of the most obvious changes is that the tabs have now been moved up to the top, which is similar to Google Chrome. Mozilla said that this will make it easier to focus on web content and easier to control the browser tools.

The whole interface has changed and only PC users will notice these changes, as the Mac and Linux versions are still being worked on. Windows 7 and Vista users will notice that the menu bar has been replaced with a single button so they can get the most used options with one click.
Firefox 4 will also include HD video support using the WebM standard and more support for HTML 5 including web forms and scalable vector graphics for animations.
This is only the first beta release and Mozilla promise that they will release a new beta every two or three weeks until the final release. To help with the beta, this version includes a new feedback button, which will let users say what features made them happy or sad.
Other beta versions will include Sync to allow users to transfer history and bookmarks to other computers, more privacy controls, updates to the Mac and Linux versions and of course, faster browsing.
