Apple iPhone 4
Apple announced the release of the successor to the iphone 3GS at the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference), which has been officially called the iPhone 4, and aims to maintain Apple’s presence in the mobile phone market.
The iPhone 4 will be available to purchase on the 24th of June in the UK, US, Germany, Japan and France. It will be available in two colours, the traditional black and a new all white design with 16gb or 32gb of memory.

iPhone 4 Features
The iPhone comes with a lot of new features and upgrades starting with the casing, which is a special glass that has been treated to make it harder, more durable than plastic and scratch resistant.
Under the glass, a new high res LCD display has been added with a 960 x 640 pixel resolution incorporating Apples new Retina Display to make the resolution higher than any existing phone. The screen will display images and text with vivid colours and an unrivalled sharpness. Also the viewing angle is much wider than before allowing everything to be seen clearly with accurate colour and contrast. The touch screen has also been improved with the ability to accept multiple touches simultaneously giving increased control and making navigation much easier.
Inside the iPhone is Apple’s new A4 processor, which also powers the iPad. The new processor will allow for multitasking, video editing and much more and will also minimise power consumption to extend battery life. The Wi-Fi has also been upgraded to 802.11n, which will allow for faster wireless speeds.
The camera has been upgraded to 5-megapixels, which can take higher res photos and record HD video. A sensor has been added to allow the camera to adjust to low light environments and a LED flash will allow for better photos. As well as the camera on the back, a front facing camera has been added to allow for video calls using Apple’s FaceTime or taking self-portrait photos. Video editing can now be achieved with iMovie with the ability to add music and themes.
As well as the two cameras, the iPhone now has two microphones, one at the bottom and one at the top to make video calls easier and will also offer high voice quality calls. Another advantage of the second microphone is to work with the main microphone to minimise background noise, making voice calls clearer.
Other features of the iPhone include a three-axis gyroscope, which will offer a new experience in games and other applications and when the iPhones ship, they will come with Apple’s new iOS 4 opening new features for users and application developers.
